How to Create, Import, and Edit Projects in CrewCenter

This guide explains how to create, import, and edit projects in CrewCenter. You’ll learn:

  • How to create projects manually
  • How to import projects in bulk via CSV
  • How to edit existing projects

Create Projects Manually

To create Projects manually, follow below steps :

1. Navigate to the “Projects” tab on the left side of the Web App.

2: Hover over and click "+Create" → "+Create".

3: Fill in the required fields:

  • Project Name: Name of the Project
  • Number: Uniquely identified Project ID
  • Status (Active or Inactive)

Tips:

  • Inactive projects will not appear in time tracking.
  • Projects cannot be deleted once created. It can only be marked as Active OR Inactive.

Import Projects via Excel File

If you want to add many projects at the same time, follow below steps:

1: Open the “Projects” tab on the left side of the Web App.

2: Hover over "+Create" and click "Import".

3: Download the template

Import projects.png 4. Fill it with the details and Upload the the template:   

  • Project Name - Name of the Project
  • Project Number - It is uniquely identified Project ID used to link and track project-related data
  • Cost Center ID - It is use to allocate project costs or time.

5. Verify imported projects in the Projects tab.

Tip: Use CSV import for bulk project creation.

Important Notes : You can not upload/update already existing projects via import. System will ignore the already available Project and only new Projects will be uploaded.

Edit Existing Projects

1. In the Projects tab, locate the project you want to edit and click the pencil icon next to the project.

2. Update the details as needed and click on "Update" to save your changes.

Troubleshooting

  • CSV upload fails? Check file format and required fields.
  • Project not visible? Ensure status is set to Active.
