Overview
This article covers the latest CrewCenter release updates for absence management and mobile menu improvements. These changes give admins more control, improve the mobile experience, and make navigation clearer for all users.
Full control over absence creation and bulk actions
Roles: Admin | Interface: Web
Admins and support admins in CrewCenter have enhanced permissions for managing absences. These permissions ensure that absence creation and editing remain flexible, even when standard limits or balances would normally restrict actions.
Admins and support admins can always create or edit absences, even if balances are low or limits are exceeded. The create/update button remains enabled.
When selecting multiple employees, admins see all assigned absence types, including those with limits. Limits are shown as guidance, not a hard stop.
For bulk actions with limited absences, admins see a red warning:
“You selected multiple employees, who might have varying or not enough remaining balance. Check the Employee Dashboard for more info.”
This warning informs but does not block the action.
Undo extra time corrections in one click
Roles: Admin | Interface: Web
Admins can now remove a manual extra time correction directly from the extra time correction history. After confirming the undo, the entry disappears and the employee’s overtime balance is recalculated automatically.
Extended absence management
Roles: Admin, Supervisor, Employee | Interface: Android, iOS
The mobile absence-creation experience now features smarter absence type filtering and clearer balance visibility, aligned with web settings.
-
The absence type list automatically hides:
Absence types not assigned to all selected employees
Absence types with ‘limits’ when multiple employees are selected
-
For a single employee, when a limited absence is selected:
Admins can always create the absence, even when exceeding the limit.
Employees and supervisors can only create the absence when selected days are within the available balance.
-
The mobile absence screen now responds to web configuration for:
Has comment: Shows a comment field when enabled in web settings.
Allow part-day absence: Disables (freezes) the full-day toggle when partial days are not permitted.
Reorganized menu structure
Roles: Admin, Supervisor, Employee | Interface: Android, iOS
The menu layout has been restructured for better readability and a consistent sort order.
A new “X” button allows quick closing of the menu.
The menu header now clearly displays “Menu” instead of “Profile.”
The app version at the bottom of the menu now includes contextual identifiers:
App version, (country_customerID), model info, and iOS/Android OS version.
Example: App version 2.63.0 (DE_0012345678) iphone (iOS26.3). Android will show the actual model info, e.g., Motorola edge plus.
Excel Export: absence comments now included
The Excel export feature now includes absence comments when the “Comment” column is enabled. This update ensures that both work period comments and absence comments are visible in your exported Excel files. If there are no absences with comments in the selected period, the export remains unchanged.
Troubleshooting
If you do not see these features, ensure your app is updated to the latest version. For web features, refresh your browser and clear cache if needed.
Next Steps
Admins: Review absence management workflows and inform your team of the new controls.
