Overview

Construction Daily Reports (Daily Reports) in CrewCenter provide a digital, standardized way to log and share daily activities on construction projects. This feature replaces manual paper reports, enabling teams to track work hours, weather, incidents, and project progress with photo documentation. The Construction Diary is available on the web platform.
 

How to Create and Manage Construction Diary Project Reports

Roles: Admin | Interface: Web

Enable Construction Diary 

  1. Click the Settings cog wheel in the top right corner.

  2. Turn ON the toggle for Construction Diary.

  3. Click Update.

Create a Construction Diary Project Report

Generating a daily project report in CrewCenter helps document all key activities, workforce data, and site conditions for each day. This process ensures accurate record-keeping and supports compliance, communication, and project tracking. Follow these steps to create and manage your Construction Diary report efficiently.

 

 

  1. Log in to the web platform and select Construction Diary from the left-hand menu.

  2. (Optional) Upload the company logo to appear on the report.

  3. Select the project from the dropdown list. 

  4. Select the date for the report.

  5. Weather details auto-populate based on project location and date.

     

 

    6. Employee work hours, time types, special conditions, breaks, and cost codes are retrieved from recorded Timecards. 

    7. Employee comments are automatically included from Timesheet timecards.

 

 

   8. Add any additional data (e.g., observations, jobsite details) in Additional Data.

   9. Add checklists if needed (e.g., safety or material checklists). 

  10. Add the singature by adding your name or upload signatures from your computer to include in the report.

  11. Add photos by clicking the + sign under the Photos section. Photos can be added from the CrewCenter app or uploaded by Admin.

To add items from the photo documentation, open the Photos tab and link the image to the construction diary for the corresponding project and date.
 
A. Go to the Photos tab
B. Select the picture you want to use
C. Click the red pen (Edit) icon to begin editing
 

 

 

D. Select the Date and Project
E. Save your changes by clicking the Update button. 
 
The image will now appear in the construction diary.

 

Note: Images added directly to the Construction Diary are temporarily stored solely for the purpose of generating your daily report. They are not saved to the photo library.

12. Click Save report to save for the project. Next time, current values will auto-populate.

13. Use Print to print or export the report as PDF.

 

 

How to Create and Edit Construction Diary Templates

Construction Diary templates are designed admins who need to capture, manage, and share daily construction reports efficiently. These templates enable users to predefine report content, such as checklists, additional data, and signature fields, which are then auto-populated in future reports for the same project. This reduces manual input, minimizes errors, and ensures that all required information is consistently collected.

 

Create a Template

 

 

  1. Log in to the web platform and select Construction Diary.

  2. Select the project for which you want to create a template. 

     

     

  3. Add details for your project template:

  • additional data
  • checklists
  • signatures

      4. Click Save Template. 

    5. Enter a name. 

Note: Saved templates auto-populate fields for future reports on the same project. 

 

Edit a Template

 

 

  1. Go to the Construction Diary tab and select the project for which you want to update the template.

     

     

  2. Use Edit visible data to change which sections appear in the report. 

     

  3. Click Hide to hide fields from the template.

  4. Click Confirm to save the new template view. 

     

     

  5. Use Update Template to change the template name.
