Roles: Supervisor | Interface: Web, Mobile

Overview

This guide explains how to handle jumper workers in CrewCenter. You’ll learn:

  • What a jumper worker is

  • How to track time for jumper workers (live and post)

  • What Supervisors, Admins, and Temp Supervisors can do for jumper workers

1. Understand Jumper Workers

A jumper worker is an employee who:

  • Normally reports to one supervisor (Reporting supervisor), but

  • Works temporarily on another jobsite/project, under a different supervisor.

Example:

  • Worker1 reports to Supervisor2 (Reporting Supervisor),

  • but works one day on Job-site (JobSite1), where Supervisor1 is responsible.

  • For Supervisor1, Worker1 is a jumper worker.

2. Track Jumper Workers in Live Mode (Mobile)

  1. Login as Supervisor in CrewCenter app

  2. Go to Live Tracking and select the project.

  3. In the Employees list you will see:

    • Your crew (workers who report to you).

    • Additional other workers (jumper workers) who can join this jobsite.

  4. Select:

    • Your crew, and

    • Any jumper workers who are working on this jobsite (not clocked in elsewhere or if they have reported absence (full day and if part-day absence falling in that time period) or if their day is approved.

  5. Tap Clock in to start live tracking.

Important Notes

  • You can only clock in jumper workers who are not already clocked in somewhere else.

3. Edit Jumper Workers in Post Mode from Timesheet Tab

  1. Open the CrewCenter App and navigate Timesheet tab.

  2. Jumper workers can be seen as orange outline -

  3. Use the ellipsis (…) next to a worker to edit the time for Jumper worker.

4. Save the entry.

Notes:

  • On Mobile, jumper workers with full‑day absence or approved days will not be selectable in bulk flows.

 OR

Edit Jumper Workers in Post Mode from Crew Tab

  1. Open the CrewCenter App and navigate Crew tab.

  2. Find Jumper workers from 'Other workers' and use the ellipsis (…) next to a worker to Add or Edit the      time for Jumper worker.

3. Add time entry and Save the entry.

4. Edit Jumper Workers – Web

  1. Open CrewCenter Web.

  2. Go to Timesheets and navigate to date.

  3. Find the jumper worker in the list (they appear where they have time or can have time on that jobsite).

  4. Click the day cell to add or edit a time entry.

   5. Save the changes.

4. What Each Role Can Do

4.1 Home Supervisor (Line Manager)

For workers who report to them, the home supervisor can:

  • See all time (including work as jumper on other jobsites).

  • Approve, revoke, or clear time according to normal permissions.

4.2 Temporary Supervisor

A Temporary Supervisor can:

  • Create time for jumper workers where allowed.

  • Typically sees mainly the time they created for jumper workers.

  • Cannot override full‑day absences or approve time entries.

4.3 Admins

Admins can:

  • See all workers (crew + jumper) across all jobsites.

5. Approvals and Absences for Jumper Workers

  • Approvals:

    • Admins and Line Managers/Supervisors can approve time cards for their crew.

    • Temporary Supervisor can not approve time entries for jumper workers.

  • Absences:

    • A worker with full‑day absence can not be selectable for new time (live or post).

    • For partial absences, they become selectable outside the absence time.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Jumper worker not visible in lists (Crew/Live/Timesheets)?

    • Check that the jumper concept is enabled and the supervisor is set as responsible for the jobsite.

    • Ensure the worker is not already clocked in elsewhere.

  • Cannot select a jumper worker for new time?

    • The day may have a full‑day absence or be approved/locked.

    • The worker may be live tracked on another jobsite.

Issue

How to Fix

Jumper worker not visible in lists (Crew/Live/Timesheets)?

Ensure the worker is not already clocked in elsewhere.

Cannot select a jumper worker for new time?
