Project Manager Access control

    Overview

Roles: Supervisors | Interface: Web, Mobile

Project Manager Access control (Project Axis) on Web and Mobile enables project-responsible users to manage, review, approve and oversee timecards and crew members based on project ownership rather than organizational hierarchy. As a result, project-responsible users can view and manage all timecards recorded for their projects, regardless of the reporting structure of the employees involved and the organizational hierarchy.

    Project Manager responsibilities

Roles: Supervisors | Interface: Web, Mobile

Project-responsible (project manager) users can now view, edit and delete pending timecards logged against their specific projects. This functionality is scoped strictly to the projects the user is responsible for, ensuring they only manage relevant data.

    Project Manager can:

    • Create new timecards for any worker on a managed project.
    • View all timecards associated with managed projects on the Post tab.
    • Edit pending timecards to correct entries on the go.
    • Delete pending timecards that were logged incorrectly.
    • Approve individual or bulk timecards associated with managed projects.

    • Revoke approval for timecards if corrections are needed.

    Important:
    • Absences are not visible to Project Managers and cannot be managed through the Project Manager role.
    • A supervisor can only view an employee’s timecard after the employee has logged time against the supervisor’s project. Until then, the employee will not appear in the timecard list, even if they are assigned to the project.
    • Employees assigned as Project Managers (PMs) can generate and view Construction Diary reports for projects to which they are assigned as PMs. These reports include all time entries and construction diary data logged against the project, including entries created by employees from other crews. However, employees assigned as PMs do not receive access to employees' timesheets. They cannot view, add, edit, approve, or otherwise manage time entries for other employees.

    Timecard Approval on Web

    Roles: Supervisors | Interface: Web

A Project Manager (the supervisor responsible for a project) can approve timesheets for themselves, for employees and supervisors assigned to their project, either individually or in bulk.

To approve multiple timesheets at once:

    1. Go to Timesheets.
    2. Select the employees whose timesheets you want to approve, or use Select All to choose all employees.
    3. Click Approve.

Note: A bulk approval does not approve the entire daily timecard if it contains entries from multiple projects. Only the relevant project-related entries are approved.

    To approve a Single Timecard

Project Managers can also approve only a portion of a daily timecard. To do this, open the employee’s timecard for the specific day and approve only the time entries related to the projects for which you are responsible and have approval permissions.
    1. Go to Timesheets.
    2. Open the required date.
    3. Click Approve.

Note: A supervisor can approve project time only for projects where they are assigned as the Project Manager. If they are not the Project Manager of a particular project, they cannot approve time entries for that project. However, they can still view time entries for other projects.

    Timecard Approval on Mobile

    Roles: Supervisors | Interface: Mobile

    To Approve Timesheets

    1. Go to Timesheets.
    2. Select the desired Crew and Project.
    1. Select the employees whose time you want to approve.
    2. Tap the green Approve button.

    Approval Status Indicators

    • ✅ Green check mark: The employee belongs to your crew, and their timesheet has been approved.
    • ⚪ Grey check mark: The employee is not part of your crew but has logged time on your project. Their day is only partially approved and may require approval from another supervisor.

Note: A Project Manager can approve only the time entries logged against projects they manage.

Time entered on other projects remains visible but cannot be approved by that Project Manager.

Crew and Timesheet Filtering on Mobile

To improve navigation, the Crew and Timesheet tabs now feature filter chips that separate different categories of workers. This prevents a single flat list and allows for more efficient workforce management.

    • My Crew filter: Displays all direct employees and those who have logged time for my project

    • Other workers filter: Displays employees not reporting to me

    • Search functionality: Automatically filters results within the context of the active chip (My Crew or Others).

    • Admin View: Administrators continue to see a single unified list without filter chips for global visibility:

Note: The Project Dashboard is not affected by timesheet approval permissions. It always displays project-related data, regardless of who is the supervisor of the employees working on the project. Therefore, Project Managers can view all time recorded on their projects, even if some employees belong to a different crew or report to another supervisor.
