How to exclude time from the working time

As an admin, you can configure specific work time and absence types as excluded, allowing unpaid or non-working periods to be documented without increasing worked hours. Excluded time is clearly marked across the web and mobile apps, excluded from time calculations and supported in reporting and exports. 

 

How to exclude absences from totals 

Roles: Admin | Interface: Web


With administrator permissions, you can exclude specific absence types, such as Private Appointments, from working time and total hour calculations. When this setting is enabled, these absences are not counted toward working time totals or reported hours.

 

Create a new absence type excluded from totals

  1. Go to Settings in the top-right corner
  2. Select Absence Reporting
  3. Click Add Type
  4. Enter the required information, such as the Name
  5. In the Time Handling section, select Excluded from totals
  6. Click Create to save the new absence type

 

Exclude an existing absence type from totals

  1. Go to Settings in the top-right corner
  2. Select Absence Reporting
  3. Click the three-dot menu next to the absence type you want to modify
  4. Select Edit. In the Time Handling section, choose Excluded from totals
  5. Click Update to save your changes

As an admin you can decide about the special time which will be excluded from totals eg. Private appointment or Personal errand. 

Create a new special time excluded from totals

To create a new special time excluded from totals admin should:

  1. Go to Settings in the top-right corner
  2. Select Time Reporting
  3. Select "Add Type." A new blank entry will be added at the bottom of the list
  4. Input the Name and Code for the new type
  5. Mark the checkbox if you wish to make this Active for Users
  6. Mark the checkbox if you want to exclude this from Totals
  7. Click "Update" to save the changes

 

Exclude an existing special type from totals

To exclude an existing special type from totals admin should:

  1. Go to Settings in the top-right corner
  2. Select Time Reporting
  3. Go to the existing special type which should be excluded from totals
  4. Mark the checkbox "Excluded from Totals"
  5. Click "Update" to save the changes

 

How to use exclude time and absence from totals on Mobile

Roles: Admin, Supervisor, Employee | Interface:  Mobile

 

Users can exclude absence time from their total during regular clock-in:

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open the mobile app
  2. Select the special time that doesn't count as working hours
  3. Press Clock In

 

To see if time is excluded from the total, check the timecard for the label "excluded."

 

To report the absence excluded from total:

  1. Go to the mobile and report the absence 
  2. Choose the absence excluded from totals

 

 

Note: Absences excluded from the total will be labeled "excluded" in timecards in upcoming CrewCenter releases.

 

How to use view excluded time and absence from totals on Web

 

Timesheet view

Roles: Admin, Supervisor | Interface: Web

 

Admins and Supervisors can view excluded time and absence on Timesheet.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Timesheet tab
  2. Open the employee's timesheet. 
  3. Excluded time is labeled "Excluded".

 

Construction Diary (Daily Reports)

Roles: Admin | Interface: Web

 

As an admin you can see Excluded time in Construction Diary (Daily reports).

  1. Go to the Daily Reports (Construction Diary) tab, select the Project and date
  2. Go to the Types of time section
  3. Check "Show excluded time" to view excluded employee hours

Export Report

Roles: Admin, Supervisor | Interface: Web

 

To view excluded time in a report:

  1. Go to the Timesheet tab
  2. Click Export
  3. Select CrewCenter Standard Export
  4. Under Other data fields, enable Duration of excluded time
  5. Click export to generate the report

The report will then include the total duration of time entries marked as excluded from totals.
