Overview

This release improves project visibility and communication in the field, expands access to Construction Diary functionality, and provides more flexibility when assigning Project Managers. Here are the changes included in this CrewCenter release:

  • Projects on Mobile (iOS): A new Project Details screen gives field workers quick access to project information, navigation apps, and direct contact options for Project Managers.
  • Construction Diary (iOS): Project location is now displayed on report headers and included in PDF exports for better site identification.
  • Construction Diary (iOS): Excluded time entries are now clearly labeled and automatically excluded from payable totals, matching Web behavior.
  • Projects (Web): Users with the Employee role can now be assigned as Project Managers, providing greater flexibility in project management.
  • Construction Diary Access (Mobile): Employees assigned as Project Managers can now view and manage Construction Diaries for projects they are responsible for.

Project Contact Actions & Details

Roles: All Users | Interface: Mobile (iOS)

A new Project Details screen provides quick access to project information and Project Manager contact details. Users can now tap a "3-dots" icon on Project Action Cards to open project details, even when the card is disabled. Project information is available from the local database, allowing access even while offline.

Users can also launch navigation apps such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze directly from the project address. In addition, Project Managers can be contacted with a single tap through Phone, Email, or supported communication apps such as WhatsApp, Teams, or Slack.

Note: Available contact methods depend on the information configured for the Project Manager and the applications installed on the device.

Project Location on Construction Diary Reports

Roles: All Users | Interface: Mobile (iOS)

To provide better geographical context, the project address is now displayed directly on the Construction Diary Report header and included in PDF exports. This allows field workers and supervisors to quickly identify the project location while reviewing reports or sharing documentation.

Note: Project location can be viewed within the report but cannot be edited from the Construction Diary screen.

Excluded Time in Construction Diary

Roles: All Users | Interface: Mobile (iOS)

The Construction Diary now respects the "Show Excluded Time" configuration across all platforms. When enabled, those time types will be visible in the diary and PDF exports with a clear "Excluded" indicator. These entries are tracked for documentation but are automatically omitted from all payable work totals, including the Employees and Cost Codes widgets. The totals label will now clearly state "Total (without excluded time)" to avoid confusion.

Note: The Show Excluded Time setting can only be managed through the Web application and cannot be changed from mobile devices.

Note: This option was already available on Web and Mobile Android.

Employee Role as Project Manager

Roles: Admin | Interface: Web

Administrators can now assign users with the Employee role as Project Managers when creating or editing projects. This provides greater flexibility when managing project responsibilities and allows teams to designate the most appropriate person regardless of their system role.

Note: Existing Project Manager assignments remain unchanged.

Construction Diary Access for Employee Project Managers

Roles: Employee Project Managers | Interface: Mobile (iOS & Android)

Employees assigned as Project Managers can now access the Construction Diary menu on mobile devices. This allows them to view, generate, and manage daily reports and PDF exports for all projects they are responsible for directly from the field.

The change helps improve project oversight and ensures that responsible employees have access to project documentation whenever needed.
